TITLE: Manager, Strategic Business Development (Attorney)

Location: 315 Park Avenue South, Ste 5, New York, NY 10010; 3 days per week in-office, 2

days per week remote permitted.

Salary Range: $272,418 - $328,000 / year

Job Description: Harvey’s Strategic Business Development team consists of attorneys

working in a sales overlay function to support all aspects of our go-to-market strategy. In

this role, you will apply legal experience to ensure that current and prospective Harvey

customers understand how our AI solutions can be applied to legal tasks and processes.

Duties include: helping lead, coach and hire high-performing attorneys for the Strategic

Business Development team, to drive the growth and success of our go-to-market

initiatives. Responsible for the team’s delivery on ambitious sales targets and cutting-

edge work testing our innovative products, as well as partnering directly with existing

and prospective Harvey customers as a leader of our Strategic Business Development

team. Recruiting, mentoring and leading a team of lawyers solving customers’ specific

legal problems, leading product demonstrations, partnering with the marketing team to

develop content and improving Harvey’s varied product offerings. Responsible for day-

to-day operations of the team, including assigning and monitoring accounts to individual

members of the team. Work cross-functionally across the organization to build effective

sales processes and solutions that meet the needs of Harvey’s clients. Leading

comprehensive technical product demonstrations tailored to attorney audiences; leading

in-depth, hands-on training and enablement sessions for attorney audiences; developing

and producing bespoke AI prompts and use cases tailored to the specific needs of law

firms and in-house legal departments; acting as a bridge between our customers and

Harvey’s Product and Engineering teams by gathering, synthesizing, and sharing

substantive, legally-oriented feedback to guide the ongoing development and refinement

of our AI tools; rigorously testing and evaluating Harvey’s new AI tools and product

improvements, ensuring they meet the high standards required for legal use cases and

provide meaningful enhancements to legal workflows; working closely with cross-

functional teams to align product development with market demands, ensuring that

Harvey’s solutions remain at the forefront of legal technology innovation.

Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) and at least (4) four years of experience practicing law

as a licensed attorney at a top-tier law firm (Vault 50 or equivalent), with a corporate law

or litigation focus.

Experience and/or education must include:

1. Executive engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish strong

relationships with key decision makers and build credibility at all levels.

2. Understanding of the substance and business of legal practice

3. Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LexisNexis, and Westlaw

4. Sales or customer-facing experience, including law firm business development

and/or secondment.

5. Experience directly managing law firm client matters and client relationships.

6. Managing collaborative, cross-functional teams at a law firm.

7. Knowledge of legal practice and substantive transactional legal issues and

leadership of deal teams, including client management skills.

8. Ability to assess risks, opportunities, and commercial considerations and

advising clients to achieve corporate objectives

9. Applying legal knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures

to commercial negotiations
