Boeing is recruiting a Test and Evaluation Engineer to join the Propulsion Laboratory team at the company’s Seattle, WA location. The Propulsion Lab is responsible for laboratory and aircraft ground testing to support airplane design, development, certification, research and technology development, delivery, after sales support, and accident investigations for all BCA products and many BDS products.

We are hiring engineers to help with multiple types of testing that we perform at on-site and off-site locations. The candidate will primarily support testing at Boeing’s Nozzle Test Facility; but will have the opportunity to support other facilities operated by the lab organization. The Nozzle Test Facility conducts testing that covers performance evaluation of sub-scale to full scale hardware relating to both propulsion and aircraft pneumatic components and systems. Leading candidates will have a history of testing and understand the product test lifecycle. Candidates will need to operate in a dynamic and sometimes emergent environment. Candidates should have some project management skills, good organizational skills and ability to coordinate with multiple organizations within Boeing along with a commitment to safety and first-time quality.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Test and Evaluation Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and verification of test methods

  • Translates customer test plans into detailed test procedures with instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan

  • Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements

  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design

  • Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware

  • Conducts tests in accordance with customer requirements and test procedures

  • Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements

  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer

  • Ability to move and work in tight spaces (test facility environments)

  • Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements

  • Presents test results internally

  • Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 1+ years of experience with fundamental fluid dynamics 

  • 1+ years of experience with hands on machining and mechanical assembly/operations

  • Experience with computer programming skills and knowledge

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working in laboratory or test facility settings

  • Experience analyzing and presenting test data results

  • Experience operating and designing high pressure systems (300 psi and greater)

  • CAD design proficiency

  • Active security clearance

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $85,850 – $116,150

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3):  $102,000 – $138,000
