Replacement Professor Position in Mathematics and Statistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Ottawa invites applications to fill one replacement professor position, to begin July 1, 2026.

Title of the position: Replacement professor.

Duties: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: teaching activities (six courses per year) and academic service activities. 

Terms: A 2-year contract, renewable.

Wage: Salary scales for Assistant Professors start at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025). 

Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete benefits package, which includes long-term disability insurance, basic group life insurance, health insurance, University of Ottawa pension plan and optional life insurance.

Skills requirements:

  • Education : Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics or Statistics.

  • Work experience:

*We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in teaching at undergraduate level (mathematics and statistics), in both official languages. Research experience in academia and/or industry will be an asset. Experience in supervising (under)graduate students will be an asset.

*Excellent candidates in all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply. The ability of the candidate to participate in more than one of the established research groups will be viewed as an asset (see Department of Mathematics and Statistics | Faculty of Science (uottawa.ca) for more details on this and other aspects of the department).
