About this Position
The Strategy group is responsible for identifying and assessing opportunities that advance Primerica’s mission of creating financially independent families. The group leads the development, identification and analysis of strategies and capabilities critical to the company’s growth plans in all business lines, including insurance, wealth management, lending, auto and home and our “business opportunity.” The AVP, Strategy will take a leadership role in the group supporting the Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy. Responsibilities include identifying revenue growth and margin opportunities, analyzing market trends, developing strategic frameworks, writing business plans, shepherding successful implementation, and providing recommendations to senior leaders.This role will require cross-functional collaboration with executive and senior management in various business units across the company. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable in high visibility settings, be able to innovate, and build a deep working knowledge of Primerica’s unique capabilities and assets. The candidate will need to leverage expertise to translate working knowledge of business into clear, specific strategies and be able to participate in and potentially lead cross-functional project teams. This role also includes close collaboration with external parties (e.g., consulting firms, investment banks) and partnerships related to strategic opportunities. The position would provide opportunities and exposure across the organization.
Location: Based in Duluth, Georgia. Estimated salary range for this role is 160k-180k
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Primary Responsibilities:
- The day-to-day activities in this role will vary depending on a variety of factors. You may work alone on some projects, with other members of the strategy team on some, while others will involve working with leaders from the business and/or members of their teams
- Research and data collection to conduct robust financial and quantitative analysis
- Interview senior executives and internal and external subject matter experts
- Engage across functions and markets to research and solve business problems and make recommendations on a wide range of issues
- Develop and maintain business landscape knowledge to provide solid foundational context
- Manage projects with a commitment to meeting deadlines and involving cross-functional teams
- Produce articulate and persuasive c-suite and board-level presentations of strategic initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8+ years of relative experience
- Superior research, analytical and problem-solving skills ideally gained, at a highly regarded management consulting firm, preferably in the financial services industry
- Strong understanding of strategic concepts, along with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans; willing to drive action and results
- Ability to support and advance complex cross-enterprise projects with multiple stakeholders
- Positive attitude with a desire to be a force for good within the organization
- Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels
- Ability to facilitate/ lead discussion and debate in a team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic manner
- Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to key leaders
- Travel Requirements: 0-20%
Preferred Requirements:
- MBA from top-tier program or similar academic experience with strong work performance
- Experience with driving or participating in Change Management
