Position Summary
The Industrial Distribution Pricing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing pricing strategies across multiple product lines and customer segments within the industrial distribution sector. This role plays a key part in maximizing profitability, enhancing competitive positioning, and supporting strategic sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage pricing strategies and structures to ensure competitiveness and profitability across markets, products, and channels.
• Analyze pricing performance, market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to recommend data-driven pricing actions.
• Partner with sales, product management, and finance teams to support quote decisions, bids, and contract pricing.
• Evaluate and maintain price lists, discount structures, and special pricing agreements (SPAs).
• Monitor and assess pricing compliance and profitability across the distribution network.
• Identify margin improvement opportunities through segmentation, cost analysis, and price elasticity studies.
• Leverage reporting tools to manage pricing agreement expiration dates and renewals.
• Train and support internal stakeholders on pricing policies, tools, and best practices.
• Develop and present pricing dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports to executive leadership.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or commercial operations, preferably in industrial distribution or manufacturing.
SSkills & Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and data visualization capabilities (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (CloudSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of industrial products, distribution channels, and B2B pricing dynamics.
• Experience managing rebates, SPAs, and distributor programs.
• Familiarity with cost-plus, value-based, and market-based pricing models.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Standard office environment with occasional travel to distribution centers or customer locations.
• Hybrid or remote options available depending on business needs.
