LOCATION: Travel expected throughout Southern AgCredit Territory

SALARY: $15 per hour 

DURATION: 8 weeks

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Full-time intern position beginning June 1st and ending on July 24th. Interns will travel to various branches to experience first-hand the day-to-day duties of Southern AgCredit employees. Reliable transportation is required. This temporary position is not eligible for benefits.

JOB SCOPE:

Interns will learn the components of the lending process, from meeting the customer and taking a loan application, through credit analysis and decision, to appraisal and loan closing. The intern will work with local staff and regional specialists to experience first-hand the level of service and personal relationships we have with our customers. The intern will also learn the operational and financial reporting aspects while working alongside administrative personnel. This internship will provide you the opportunity to build a foundation for professional growth with hands on experience. Travel away from home branch will be paid by Southern AgCredit.

In addition to the areas noted above, the students will be asked to engage in a project as defined by Southern AgCredit that will be developed throughout the 8-week period with a final report and presentation to the Management Team on the final day of the internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

This internship is open for second-semester juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Accounting, or related field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, the ability to set priorities, and well-developed analytical and organizational skills. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates residing within our service footprint.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Frequent interaction with relationship managers, credit officers, departmental staff, and management. Occasional interaction with CEO.
