Responsibilities
The Business Manager will work within a team environment to support the operational and change management functions of the org and to support on-going growth and day-to-day operations related to executive customer and partner engagements, budget management, orchestration & planning, and support employee experiences. This role will collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper alignment in the creation and implementation of execution plans and it will be on point for tracking the use of role-based compliance training and new training. It will also contribute to cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and gather information to support development of storytelling content to articulate strategies, results and goals for internal and external forums.
Successful candidates should have a proven capability for business management, organizational skills, culture and change management experience and an ability to execute in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the coordination and execution of executive customers and partner engagement aligned to the core business priorities and organize executive visits, including global events with customers and key partners.
- Define and establish a decision-making framework and processes for selecting key customers and partners with defined outcomes for each engagement. (E.g. EBCs, customer/partner engagement). Also, manages and builds relationships with leaders while using understanding of audience needs to ensure the optimal use of leaders' time and partners with Chief of Staff to co-lead and land internal and/or external content.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among key stakeholders, including executive sponsors, and customer/partner representatives and may interact with a broader array of high-level partners and stakeholders at scale for the business.
- Connects leaders and teams to MSFT Diversity & Inclusion resources and initiatives. Partners with HR and other business managers to implement/leverage culture and inclusion strategies. Monitors and supports organizational health initiatives and tracks compliance and new training usage. Drives completion of required trainings, (e.g security), and may organize or align to existing trainings or programs as needed.
- Lead the end-to-end budget planning process, manage budget allocations for the team and oversee financial operations to maintain fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Collaborate with team members and the Business and Industry Copilot organization to ensure consistency, alignment, and efficiency across new and existing initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
- Project management skills to organize a busy workload and deliver projects on time.
- The ability to interact confidently with senior leaders of the organization in order to present/defend/clarify concerns or issues regarding an existing project, program, or solution.
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed and global environment.
- Attention to detail and a relentless focus on execution with the highest degree of quality.
Other Requirements:
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of people across the organization, including senior leaders, individual contributors, and support staff.
- Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications.
- Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Experience in building effective business processes for diverse teams.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualification:
- Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
Business Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
