Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Pay Range:  $48,364.00 - $62,577.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Assist and contribute to the development and administration of Johnson County Community College’s (JCCC’s) compensation program that ensures the college attracts, retains, and engages a motivated and skilled workforce by offering a competitive and equitable compensation package.

Required Qualifications:

  • Entry-level professional within field.
  • Requires basic skill set and proficiency.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an academic setting desired.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting compensation data to ensure accurate and up-to-date market comparisons. Conduct basic market research, analyzing salary survey data using appropriate data scoping factors. Utilize spreadsheets to support compensation-related projects. 
  • Participate in the job evaluation process using established methodologies to ensure consistent position leveling and classification across JCCC. Collaborate with senior-level staff and leadership in the regular review, maintenance, and update of job descriptions.
  • Support the gathering of market data to benchmark and analyze the competitiveness of JCCC’s compensation program. Contribute to the preparation of reports on industry compensation trends.
  • Participate in external compensation surveys by submitting JCCC’s employee compensation data as required. Assist in data validation with third-party compensation surveys. 
  • Provide support for compensation-related programs and assist with the annual salary increase process. Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation related to compensation activities. 
  • Enter and update data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct research, learn, and stay informed about relevant laws and regulations related to compensation. Work closely with leaders and more experienced team members to train, receive feedback, and learn compensation best practices. 
  • Implement and administer established compensation-related policies and procedures.
  • Assist in internal equity analysis and reviews to ensure fairness, equity, and consistency in how employees are compensated across JCCC.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and team members from Human Resources and Recruiting to assist with developing competitive and equitable salary offers for new hires and internal promotions.
  • Respond to basic inquiries from employees regarding compensation policies and practices. Monitor and answer inquiries received in the functional email inbox. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Accounting, Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources, to assist with process and data issues. Conduct and complete routine salary survey market analysis requests.
  • Reconcile requests for payments within employee transaction system.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
