The Envirome Institute (EI) at the University of Louisville (UofL) is accepting applications for a Research Technician I to work as a team member in basic research lab, understanding the mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases. The EI houses several dynamic Centers and investigators across multiple UofL Departments and external collaborators in the fields of medicine, physiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry. The primary focus of this position is to support scientific investigations into the role of inflammation on cardiovascular diseases. The Research Technician I will assist in the operations of sample processing, biobanking, and inventory management. The Research Technician I will also assist EI investigators in analyzing cellular function and phenotype in both preclinical and human clinical studies. This position is renewable contingent upon funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and maintain lab equipment
Assist in processing of samples.
Bio-banking of samples.
Perform basic biochemistry techniques such as cell culture, flow cytometry, maintain animal colonies.
Coordinate processing human samples
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
