The University of Louisville School of Music invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer in Music Therapy for the Fall 2025 semester. The successful candidate will serve as the primary music therapist and supervisor of music therapy interns in both clinic and community settings. This position also includes documentation responsibilities and logistical communication related to assigned contact hours for MUTH 451-01 (Music Therapy Internship).
Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary music therapist for assigned clinic and community sessions.
- Supervise and mentor music therapy interns in applied settings.
- Document and communicate session progress and student performance.
- Coordinate with the Music Therapy Clinic on scheduling of assigned contact hours.
- Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts with the Music Therapy Clinic.
- Uphold high standards of clinical practice and intern supervision, subject to evaluation by the Music Therapy Clinic Coordinator and UofL Music Therapy Faculty.
Appointment Details:
- Dates of Appointment: Fall 2025 Semester, September - December
- Anticipated Instruction Hours: 6 hours per week
- Anticipated Compensation: $2,550
- Contract renewal is contingent on department need, funding, and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current board certification (MT-BC) required.
- Clinical experience as a practicing music therapist.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise interns.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
