The primary role of the Manager, CDI Data Analytics is to ensure CDI and Coding hospital and HCC opportunities are identified and addressed, and stakeholders feel confident in the awareness, understanding and mitigation of them. The manager will proactively review CDI and Coding related data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for further assessment, mitigation, and communication. This includes the active review of data, analyzing for root causes, and participating in the mitigation and escalation of opportunities. In addition, the Manager, CDI Data Analytics will serve as a resource to the CDI, Coding, Hospital, and Quality teams as well as other stakeholders to understand and improve quality and reimbursement opportunities. The Manager, CDI Data will maintain expertise in the core CDI/Coding analytics tools including but not limited to Vizient, Solventum, Epic, Premier or other HCC tool, as well as other sources. In addition, they will present and educate stakeholders as needed on data, opportunities, and recommendations/resolution related to financial, mortality, length of stay, effectiveness, and other key indicators and strategic initiatives.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Key Role/Responsibility * Design and validate metrics and key indicators at the system, facility and service line levels to monitor performance, trends and opportunities within coding related data - Slice data from various sources to assess performance, root causes and conclusions - Prepare communications to disseminate trends, root causes and recommendations/conclusions with operational and other stakeholders - Participate in record reviews, further analysis and insights as needed Key Role/Responsibility * Lead and participate in various initiatives and efforts to build awareness, understanding, mitigation and improve coding related data across clinical, quality, financial and operational areas to achieve Wellstar system goals: - Coordinate presentations of data and trends for discussion, awareness and mitigation - Partner with Coding and CDI leaders to prepare operational plans, recommendations - Facilitate proactive initiatives and projects on behalf of and in coordination with Coding and CDI to improve, build awareness and educate Key Role/Responsibility * Serve as coding and CDI resource to key service line, clinical and operational areas to review cases, discuss data and trends, and build understanding and confidence related to Coding and CDI - Understand overall system goals and priorities of clinical, quality and financial departments - Serve as intermediary between Coding and CDI and the above areas to ensure alignment of goals, operational improvements, and discussions related to Coding and CDI questions, data and efforts to improve Key Role/Responsibility *Other duties as assigned: - Provide facilitation and organization of large meetings, leadership teams and operational groups as requested - Lead the gathering and dissemination of materials for meetings, and education sessions - Attend leadership and customer meetings as requested Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Nursing or Bachelors Health Science or Bachelors Other
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.- CCDS - Cert Clin Document Specialist or CDIP - Cert Document Improvement Prac or LPN - Lic Practical Nurse or RHIA - Reg Health Information Admin or RHIT - Reg Health Information Tech or RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 3 years Inpatient Coding or CDI role Required and Minimum 2 years of experience in Outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement, including physician practice and risk adjustment/HCC and RAF scores Preferred and Minimum 2 years of experience working with coding reporting and analytics tools Preferred and Minimum 2 years management or supervisory experience Preferred and Minimum 1 year of experience interacting with physician and hospital administration leaders PreferredRequired Minimum Skills:
Computer/data analytics experience. Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge.
