Hospital Coordinator – Animal Referral Hospital Homebush
Full Time position Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (on-site)
Are you ready to take on a strategic leadership role in one of Australia’s largest and oldest specialist and emergency veterinary hospitals?
In this newly created role ARH Homebush is seeking a Hospital Coordinator to lead our Nursing and Animal Attendant teams. This innovative and high-impact position reports directly to senior hospital management and plays a critical role in driving hospital-wide success. You’ll be responsible for managing clinical teams, shaping care delivery, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for patients and staff alike.

Your Role as Hospital Coordinator
This new role in our hospital team will hold overall responsibility and authority for the Nursing and Animal Attendant cohorts across the hospital. This role is central to ensuring operational excellence, clinical consistency, and team development, while aligning care delivery with our medical identity and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities in this role:
Strategic Clinical Leadership
- Lead daily hospital rounds and morning huddles (Mon–Fri)
- Collaborate with senior nursing leaders and department heads
- Develop and maintain SOPs for predictable, repeatable care
- Partner with the Clinical Director to align care delivery with our medical identity
- Promote a Sydney-wide approach to care methodologies across ARH sites
Team Management & Development
- Recruit, induct, develop, and retain nursing talent through structured career planning
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture
- Resource & Workflow Planning
- Create and manage a master roster aligned with budget forecasts
- Balance resources across departments to meet changing demands
- Manage referral coordination directly or through delegation
- Collaborate with Radiographer, Anaesthetist, and other departments to optimise workflow
Policy & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Contribute to policy development and procedural improvements
- Communication & Problem Solving
- Support team members in problem-solving and change implementation
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality across all interactions
About You
You’re a confident, collaborative leader with a strong background in clinical and team management. You thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality care.
- Veterinary nursing qualifications or veterinary degree
- Experience in hospital coordination or team leadership in a Specialist Hospital essential
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
