Job Description:

Summary:

The Design and Build Lab (DaBL) is seeking a motivated and creative undergraduate or graduate student employee to join our team as a Student Lab Technician. Student Technicians support the daily operations of the makerspace by assisting visitors, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment. Responsibilities include training and mentoring other students, monitoring equipment use, troubleshooting basic technical issues, organizing tools and materials, and supporting events or workshops. Training will be provided for all major equipment and safety procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Up to 10 hours/week during the academic semester.

Salary Range:

• $17.95 - $18.50/hour.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Ideal candidates will have experience or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl cutting), electronics and Arduino, vector graphics design, 3D modeling, woodworking, or general prototyping.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
