Research Analyst

Location: London, UK

Dragonfly, part of Dow Jones, is a specialist provider of global security and geopolitical risk intelligence, serving multinational companies, public institutions, and international organisations.

About the Role

Dragonfly is seeking a Research Analyst for a junior/entry-level research role with a global remit. The analyst will work on key Dragonfly products including TerrorismTracker (TT) and Travel Risks Monitor (TRM), supporting intelligence analysts and conducting open-source data collection.

Data / People / Methodology

Data – What you’ll work with:

TerrorismTracker (TT) database and Travel Risks Monitor (TRM)
Open-source intelligence feeds and media monitoring tools
Structured and unstructured global security, geopolitical, and terrorism-related data

People – Who you’ll interact with:

Internal: Dragonfly intelligence analysts, regional teams, and data scientists
External: Support client research requests as needed

Methodology – How you’ll work:

Conduct high-quality open-source research and media monitoring
Validate, qualify, and maintain data accuracy and reliability
Support analysts with reports, briefings, and discrete research tasks
Follow process-driven tasks while being proactive in team delivery

You Will

Conduct high-quality open-source research, monitoring, and data gathering, including qualifying sources and validating information
Utilise, develop, and maintain resources, specifically data feeds and open-source networks
Provide high-quality research in support of project work and security intelligence reports or briefings, within agreed timescales, seeking guidance where required
Be proactive in taking on day-to-day tasks and ensuring team delivery demands are met
Be comfortable operating in a team environment and working on process-driven tasks

You Have

A demonstrable professional or academic interest in terrorism, political violence, and extremism
Professional or academic experience in open-source research and monitoring
An understanding of conducting balanced and objective research
