Job Summary
Job Description
DUTIES: Contribute to a team responsible for manipulating and analyzing data using SQL and Python; store, access, and navigate data in database platforms including Teradata, AWS, and MinIO; develop software system architecture and data marts throughout the Software Development Lifecycle and Data Lifecycle; use Jira for ticketing and tracking; collaborate across multiple teams to understand business needs, analyze complex data, and integrate data with other Comcast data assets; become the subject matter expert in the data and be able to articulate how it benefits business stakeholders; work with business units to document the requirements for enterprise base and semantic layer; identify and build source to target mapping for data attributes; work with management team in estimating level of effort and timelines; maintain detailed documentation through data lifecycle process to ensure fully transparent communication and meet deadline expectations; develop business rules and logic to harmonize the data; create test plans and execute User Acceptance Testing for stated data dependent projects; create Data Quality (DQ) checks for the data assets, monitor DQ readouts, and triage issues with DevOps as well as upstream source data owners; partner with HQ systems engineering and business units to process data in stage, journal, base, and semantic within Teradata and MinIO/AWS; partner with data architecture and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle; support standardization efforts for referential data used for data analysis and project output; and provide regular status updates to leadership team. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and two (2) years of experience performing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using SQL and Python to manipulate and analyze data; storing, accessing, and navigating data in database platforms including Teradata and AWS; working with Databricks; processing data using Hadoop; performing data modeling using Erwin; designing data models using Kimball Dimensional Modeling Techniques; creating technical and data quality requirements using source to target mapping (STTM), pseudo code, and Data Quality rule logic; developing software system architecture and data marts throughout the Software Development Lifecycle and Data Lifecycle; performing User Acceptance Testing; building data visualizations using Tableau; and using Jira for ticketing and tracking.
