Summary

 

This position is responsible to ensure that current customers in the primary region are being serviced by the company to their highest expectations and the company’s products are properly used and designed.

 

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrated knowledge of company products including proper fit and design.
  • Develop working knowledge of the total engineering of company’s products from initial conception through production requirements including fit, digitizing, revisions, BOM, BOO, and job traveler.  For marine products this includes mooring covers, shipping covers and bimini tops.  For UTV products this includes doors, cabs and covers.  For Accessory products this includes covers for PWC and Snowmobile as well accessory bags.
  • Fit products and make necessary pattern changes to satisfy customer needs/wants, reduce costs, improve performance. 
  • Utilize ERP system to update pattern changes and enter new products as they are developed.
  • Develop good rapport with existing customers to assist with product development through cyclical scheduled visits.
  • Lead development of new or revised products when necessary according to Internal Sales or Engineering directions.
  • Help investigate regional quality issues under the direction of the Quality Manager.
  • Develop quality information to improve manufacturing practices with production teams.
  • Conduct analysis and prepare various reports and updates as required.
  • Advance sewing knowledge and pattern making skills by assisting in the manufacturing process for small projects and samples as necessary.  I.E. when changes are minor and if it makes more sense to do this yourself rather than to have production people do them. 
  • Perform miscellaneous manufacturing projects as time allows. These are to be submitted by the Plant Manager to the scheduler in R&D for consideration & approval. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Travel as required to service customers.
  • Ensures own production conforms to requirements of quality and schedule.
  • Inspects input/output quality requirements on all units processed.
  • Follows approved procedures to complete all tasks. 
  • Maintains work area in a clean, repaired and organized manner.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate. 

 

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/engineering field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD software.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including problem solving, data collection, and drawing conclusions.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of sewing practices and terminology.
