Full Time

Under the direction of the CT Supervisor, performs with minimal supervision a diversity of technical radiographic (CT) assignments, diagnostic and complex in nature, which require theoretical insight and experience. Exercises complex skill, judgment and knowledge of the principles and methods of the radiographic technical field. The CT Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Call may be required.


EDUCATION:

Minimum: • AAS degree in Radiologic Technology or Radiology Technology in AMA approved school. Preferred: • Registered CT specialist or one year additional training at AMA approved school in CT.

LICENSE: Minimum: • NYS license

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum: • ARRT

Preferred: • ARRT certification in CT

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: • One or more years of Radiologic Technology experience.

SKILLS:

Minimum: • An understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology. • Sensitive and reassuring approach to patients. • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. • Computer literacy. • Ability to work effectively under pressure. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

The staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric group
