We’re seeking a new team member to help us push the boundaries of performance. In this role, you’ll work closely with software at the hardware level to verify functionality and identify faults in our electronics designs.
LV Electronics develops proprietary control units used in our record-breaking vehicles. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers and team members to understand hardware requirements, perform thorough testing, and ensure full functionality before handing off to the application software teams. - Contribute actively to the design, implementation, debugging, and testing of low-level software and hardware for our in-house developed electronic control units.
- Provide support to development teams and prototype technicians throughout the engineering process.
- Take initiative in improving our workflows and development methodologies.
- Engage in cross-functional projects involving Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
Main responsibilities:
- Define and develop verification software requirements for Koenigsegg’s in-house electronic control units.
- Design, implement, and debug low-level test software tailored to Koenigsegg’s proprietary electronics.
- Create innovative test concepts and algorithms aligned with industry standards and Koenigsegg’s unique applications.
- Provide hands-on support to our production line, prototype development, and R&D teams.
- Collaborate within a small, agile, cross-functional team of hardware engineers, software engineers, designers, and technicians to integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems into our vehicles.
- Produce clear and comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, integration procedures, and calibration workflows.
- Generate detailed reports on system performance, calibration outcomes, and any adjustments made during testing.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to share progress and insights on integration and calibration activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize integration and calibration processes.
- Contribute to the evolution of our development methodologies and ways of working
Further skills needed:
- Proven hands-on working experience within embedded software engineering, typically development, troubleshooting for both low- and high-level embedded software in real-time environment.
- Proficient in C programming.
- Experience with software development processes and practices, such as version control, debugging, and testing.
- Familiarity with embedded systems development tools such as debuggers, emulators, and oscilloscopes.
- High standards for clean code quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers and microprocessors, as well as their interfaces and peripherals (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional level of English.
It would also be considered meritorious, but not required if you have:
- Previous Formula Student or Motorsport experience (or similar).
- Knowledge of C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of control system theory.
- Knowledge of how a car and its systems and components work.
- Experience in troubleshooting automotive electrical systems.
- Experience working with CAN, LIN protocols and similar diagnostics and automotive tools and standards.
- Practical experience in Electronics Lab
