Role Purpose:
Based in our London office or in our office in Italy, and responsible for providing generalist HR support to all Jimmy Choo employees in Italy, Spain and Portugal. The HR Business Partner will be expected to embed Jimmy Choo culture, values, policies and procedures in the region in a legally compliant manner while supporting Line Managers to drive individual and team performance. This is a true business partner HR role.
The position will have a large measure of autonomy supporting the Senior HRBP Retail EMEA and collaborating with other Head Office Departments.
Nature and Scope of Position:
This role will report directly into the Senior HRBP Retail EMEA and will work collaboratively with the EMEA HR team and Retail Line Managers to provide generalist HR support and to ensure the implementation of the People Strategy as communicated by the VP of HR. The role will be responsible for providing a generalist HR services including ensuring legal compliance, oversight of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
However this role is so much more : you will have to understand the business in your scope, in and out, use the HR and business metrics in order to create a strong and impactful partnership with your business partner.
Your role will be around navigating between short timelines – to sort out blocking business issues – as well as longer timelines - in order to implement changes which will impact the business performance.
- Support and advise managers on the recruitment, induction, attendance, retention, employee relations, and employment of appropriately skilled and expert staff to meet business needs
- Partner with Line Managers to ensure that all retail stores in the region are fully compliant with HR, legal, and company requirements
- Ensure that Line Managers in the region adhere to and are trained in terms of HR policies and procedures
- Work with our recruitment team from Capri & Line Managers to recruit, train, and develop staff ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified and appropriate employees
- Ensure all employee relations issues are dealt with in an effective manner, partnering with the ER manager and Line Managers when necessary
- Provide reliable and trusted employment law advice. Liaise with local Employment Lawyers, where appropriate and within budget as approved by the Senior HRBP Retail EMEA
- Offer an internal consultancy service (at a certain level) to the business, diagnosing issues, identifying needs, and providing creative solutions in line with business objectives
- Work with the HR team and undertake a variety of HR projects as required including research, proposals, negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives
- Responsibility for keeping current processes and practices in the region up to date
- Partner with the L&D team & the Line Managers to ensure our teams are trained and have the right L&D tools to perform their role efficiently.
- Build and maintain excellent BP relationships with business partners and networking contacts in order to support the business needs & improve individual and collective performance.
- Identify and assess HR issues that need to be brought to the attention of the rest of the HR team, and act upon as necessary
- Provide advice on immigration and visa queries
- Work collaboratively with the different departments within the HR team.
- Communicate issues and identify needs to the Senior HRBP Retail EMEA.
- Act as company representative for any Work Inspection, Union or Worker Representative issues
Experience Required
- HR experience within a fast-paced commercial environment is desirable.
- Retail experience would be a plus.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of UK and Spanish employment law
- International employee relations experience, including assisting on disciplinary and grievance issues and dealing with relevant trade union representatives would be advantageous
- Extensive recruitment and selection experience
Particular skills/knowledge required
- Fluent in English, Italian and Spanish
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, being flexible in approach to meet the requirements of the business
- Strong business acumen and business partnering focused
- Ability to use metrics, analytical skills and capacity to work on different timelines
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Highly competent user of MS Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
