As a Senior System Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain robust integration solutions that enable reliable data flow across Moderna’s growing ecosystem of enterprise systems. This highly technical, cross-functional role supports multiple domains—including Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Quality, and R&D—requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure integrations are resilient, scalable, and compliant with both internal architecture and external regulations.
You will act as a subject matter expert for integration infrastructure, including EDI interfaces and API configurations, and manage the ongoing evolution of the platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on operational excellence, performance optimization, and the opportunity to contribute to transformational efforts, including the integration of Generative AI tools to enhance Moderna’s data exchange and automation capabilities.
This is an individual contributor position, based in Warsaw, Poland, with some flexibility required to support U.S. business hours as needed.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Designing integration solutions that align with enterprise architecture and business requirements.
Developing, testing, deploying, and documenting integrations between cloud and on-premises applications.
Acting as the subject matter expert for system-to-system integrations across multiple enterprise domains.
Monitoring and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) interfaces (e.g., 850, 856, 810) with global partners and customers.
Coordinating onboarding of new EDI partners, including testing, mapping, and connectivity setup.
Managing API lifecycle activities including authentication, routing, throttling, and transformation.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Providing incident resolution and performance tuning for existing integration environments.
Supporting project delivery teams with integration design and implementation.
Managing integration platform infrastructure including configuration, access control, and platform health.
Ensuring integrations adhere to all applicable security, compliance, audit, and data privacy policies.
Driving process improvements, automation, and technical innovation across the integration landscape.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the scalability and resilience of the platform.
Participating in the exploration and possible adoption of Generative AI capabilities within the integration environment.
Supporting critical escalations outside of normal hours to align with global operations.

You will drive technical automation, expand integration capabilities, and explore opportunities to enhance digital workflows, including the use of AI—maximizing the speed, accuracy, and scalability of Moderna’s enterprise data exchange systems.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field, master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise system integration or software engineering roles.
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with at least one leading integration platform such as Boomi, Mulesoft, SnapLogic, Workato, or Informatica. Experience with Boomi is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of integration protocols and formats including REST, SOAP, HTTP/S, AS2, VAN, (S)FTP, JSON, XML.
Strong understanding of architecture patterns such as pub-sub, hub-spoke, API-led and event driven architecture.
Solid grasp of cloud infrastructure concepts (preferably AWS) and networking fundamentals.
Preferred experience with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Workday, Veeva, MES, Salesforce and LIMS.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Exposure to monitoring tools, log aggregators, and alerting systems to track platform health and performance.
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python, or Shell.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for high-quality execution.
Demonstrated initiative in learning new tools and technologies and improving operational processes.
Eager to quickly learn, Can-do and customer service attitude.
