About The Opportunity:
We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic and passionate Sales Cadet, to join our team at Glenelg BMW!
The Sales Cadet is responsible for supporting the sales process of BMW Motorrad and MINI products while learning and developing the skills required to progress to a New Car Sales Consultant role. This entry-level position is designed for a motivated and passionate individual with a strong interest in both motorcycles and vehicles, who will shadow the New Car Sales team and actively participate in customer engagement, sales administration, and brand representation.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for BMW, MINI, and Motorrad brands, possess both a full motorcycle and vehicle driver’s license, and commit to delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned with Jowett Motor Group’s values and standards.
This role is designed as a structured development pathway. Successful performance and demonstrated capability may lead to promotion to a New Car Sales Consultant – Motorrad & MINI!
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Customer Passion
Deliver a premium experience to all customers, meeting the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Main Activities:
- Support sales targets by engaging in customer contact strategies.
- Ensure timely and professional follow-up with all customers.
- Contribute to a seamless sales journey, including vehicle and motorcycle handover.
- Maintain customer engagement pre- and post-sale in line with JMG standards.
- Respond promptly to customer calls, emails, and enquiries.
- Achieve Customer Service Index (CSI) targets.
- Conduct all interactions with integrity, transparency, and in compliance with legal standards.
2. Efficiency & Process Orientation
Ensure efficiency, compliance, and accuracy within the sales process.
- Main Activities:
- Assist with accurate sales administration in line with JMG policies and financial/legal procedures.
- Introduce JMG car care, finance, and insurance products during the sales process.
- Maintain professional representation of BMW, MINI, and Motorrad across social media and promotional platforms.
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulatory obligations (Motor Traders Act, RWC process).
3. Functional & Technical Skills
Develop strong technical and product knowledge to support customers and the sales team.
Main Activities:
- Assist in product demonstrations, showcasing features and capabilities of motorcycles and vehicles.
- Maintain and continuously develop in-depth product and competitor knowledge.
- Prepare quotations under sales management guidance.
- Identify customer needs and introduce relevant accessories, lifestyle products, finance, and insurance solutions.
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives where required.
4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Promote and maintain a safe working environment consistent with JMG’s HSE policies.
Main Activities:
- Take responsibility for personal and team safety in the workplace.
- Comply with all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Report incidents, hazards, or near misses promptly to management.
- Ask for clarification or instruction when unsure about safety matters.

- Competent with Dealership Management Systems (DMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications & Experience
- Year 12 (or equivalent) education completed.
- Previous sales or customer service experience (automotive retail experience desirable).
- Full motorcycle and motor vehicle license (essential).
