About the Role
Oak Hill is seeking a dedicated Investigation Specialist to lead and manage investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect, and other reportable incidents referred by DDS, DCF, or other state entities. In this critical role, you will ensure unbiased, thorough, and timely investigations that uphold our mission of providing person-centered, culturally responsive, and compliant services.
You will work closely with the Investigation Oversight and Compliance Supervisor, internal team members, external partners, and regulatory agencies to develop comprehensive investigatory reports, ensure compliance with state standards, and support the individuals and families we serve.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct timely investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect, and other reportable incidents.
• Collect and analyze evidence (documentary, testimonial, tertiary) to develop findings of fact and recommendations.
• Draft comprehensive investigatory reports with exhibits, findings, and recommendations in compliance with Oak Hill and state-mandated timelines.
• Collaborate with internal staff, DDS Abuse Investigation Division, case managers, and guardians to ensure a complete and objective process.
• Revise reports and perform additional investigatory steps based on internal and regulatory feedback.
• Provide follow-up to DDS and other state agencies to ensure recommendations and compliance requirements are met.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to achieve State of Connecticut DDS Investigator Certification within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
• Prior leadership or managerial experience.
• Certification in abuse/neglect investigations, mandated reporting, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• In-depth knowledge of abuse/neglect reporting laws and investigatory procedures.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management with the ability to balance multiple investigations and deadlines.
• Professional neutrality and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.
• Proficiency with office software and case management systems.
