As a Solution Engineer at Linxon in Raleigh, NC, you’ll apply your technical expertise to design and support the installation of cutting-edge Substation, BESS, Solar, and Rail Electrification projects—from 765kV down to 11kV. Reporting directly to the Head of Solutions, you’ll collaborate with local engineering teams and globais experts to drive innovation and standardization.
What will you do?
Technical Expertise
Lead the development, design, and review of GET engineering documents for tenders and execution.
Provide technical input for tender schemes, scope documents, and vendor evaluations.
Prepare technical specifications and material schedules for HV/MV primary equipment.
Perform and review engineering calculations and designs for grounding, lightning protection, steel structures, transformers, converters, switchgear, auxiliary systems, power cables, RFQs, BOQs, DSLPs, earthing, busbar sizing, and cable engineering.
Design & Collaboration
Drive design standardization and participate in review meetings.
Support proposal development and tender submissions.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive design integration.
Cross-Functional Interaction
Partner with line managers for technical guidance and conflict resolution.
Coordinate with engineering teams (HV cables, civils, commissioning, secondary systems) and site personnel to incorporate lessons learned.
Liaise with suppliers for technical alignment and compliance.
Work closely with project managers, planners, tendering, and supply chain teams.
Customer Engagement
Build strong client relationships through effective design presentations and solutions.
Participate in design and hazard review sessions to ensure safety and compliance.
Quality & Delivery
Review and approve technical tender documentation per standards and bid requirements.
Ensure work packages meet scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
Who you are?
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience, or
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in substation design and engineering. (Preferred)
Expertise in Substation Systems: Deep understanding of outdoor and indoor substation equipment, including Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), and proficiency in designing AC and DC auxiliary systems.
Engineering Design Proficiency: Proven experience in both primary and secondary engineering disciplines, with strong capabilities in performing complex design calculations.
Technical Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, analysis, and reporting.
CAD Design Expertise: Skilled in computer-aided design using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, with the ability to produce and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
Professional Certification: Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable. (Preferred)
