Brief Job Description (essential functions of the job):

 

Under the supervision of an employee of a higher grade, the Public Works Hokey performs entry-level work with a focus on cleaning sidewalks and gutters.

Responsibilities

• Assigned to various districts to clean sidewalks and gutters of debris.
• May clean other public areas as requested.
• May be involved in Public Works Department operations in adverse weather conditions.
• Performs related work as required.

 

Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to learn the use of tools and procedures necessary to perform assigned tasks.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

 

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED

Hours per week: 40
