Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The Area Field Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all engineering support activities within a designated area of the project site. This role ensures that construction is executed in alignment with project specifications, engineering designs, applicable codes, and safety standards. The manager leads a team of field engineers, coordinates with construction teams, and acts as the primary interface between site operations and the home office or design teams.

  • Manage and lead field engineering activities within an assigned project area to support construction execution.
  • Coordinate between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification of engineering design, drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Review and interpret IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and ensure their correct implementation in the field.
  • Support site construction teams with timely resolution of RFIs (Requests for Information), field change notices, and engineering queries.
  • Ensure redline drawings and as-builts are maintained accurately and submitted according to project requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of construction against design specifications and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure compliance with engineering standards and construction quality plans.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, field walkdowns, and coordination meetings.
  • Lead and mentor a team of field engineers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all engineering and construction support activities.
  • Support commissioning and turnover teams with required technical documentation and field input

Expected:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • 20+ years of experience in field engineering or construction management within the oil & gas industry.
  • Proven experience in large-scale EPC or EPCM projects.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, codes, and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, piping layouts, electrical single-line diagrams, civil drawings, etc.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction software tools (e.g., Navisworks, AutoCAD, SmartPlant, etc.)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in both onshore and offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Familiarity with project completions and turnover processes.
