Job Description:

The Clinical Referral Representative I position serves as a key administrative and operational support liaison within the laboratory, ensuring efficient communication among laboratory technologists, outside healthcare providers, and other UF departments. The position is responsible for maintaining regulatory documentation and supporting laboratory functions through research and clinical data entry, and financial account management.  A primary focus includes assisting with the receipt of samples and documentation, maintaining multiple databases, processing billing and account creation tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of laboratory reports. This role also supports regulatory compliance efforts, inventory coordination, report distribution to clients. Additionally, the individual will handle client communication, provide support on testing procedures and billing inquiries, and perform various clerical tasks including document preparation and phone management. 

Research/Data Entry
-Uses PC and Macintosh applications to conduct internet research for testing requirements, possesses
typing skills at least 35WPM, and ten key. Data entry (Excel),account creation (Quick Books), maintenance of patient accounts, review laboratory charges and results, and various billing requirements including credit card and Medicare billing, change of guarantor, and other billing issues. Maintains numerous databases.

Lab Report Preparation/Maintenance
-Coordinates preparation of the laboratory reports and checks for accuracy and compatibility of data
provided by multiple technicians. Fax and mail reports to clients, obtain authorization for add-on tests from clients. Assists in the coordination of inventory/ordering of lab supplies. Assists in all regulatory compliance including QA/QI.

Communication/Coordination
-Coordinates interactions between Client Support Specialists, technicians and other UF departments.
Answers client inquiries regarding testing process, cost, billing and shipments. Advises clients on how to obtain necessary information, documentation and forms from website. Performs clerical duties including the handling of multi-line phones, filing, archiving, sorting, photocopying, type correspondence, memos, reports, or other documents.

Other Assigned Duties
-Performs special projects, as determined by laboratory director.

Expected Salary:

$38,000 - $46,000
