We are seeking a Harness Engineer with deep electrical engineering expertise and hands-on experience in designing highly complex vehicle wiring systems. You’ll be responsible for developing harness architectures that incorporate multiple branches, splices, and ensuring accurate documentation and integration throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Your contributions will span from concept to prototype to production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and route complex automotive-grade harnesses featuring branches, splices, and robust routing strategies.
  • Define engineering requirements, create schematics, CAD models, and detailed harness drawings.
  • Build and maintain harness databases, leveraging tools like Zuken to generate accurate and efficient drawings.
  • Demonstrate solid EE background—more than just routing, you understand power, signal integrity, and system-level electrical functionality.
  • Select and specify automotive-grade connectors, cables, and components; work with networks such as CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet (bonus).
  • Integrate electronics and hardware components seamlessly within mechanical systems and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for prototype builds and support production scaling.
  • Improve team efficiency by developing internal tools, methods, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical or similar Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience routing complex vehicle wire harnesses, ideally from concept through production.
  • Expert in harness tooling, particularly Zuken, database management, and drawing generation.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, signal integrity, and data bus systems (CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating electronics & hardware in vehicle systems.
  • Clear and effective communication, documentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Open to remote candidates as long as they shift their working hours to Pacific Time
