We are looking for a tax specialist to join our Tax and Legal Services team in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland at Senior Associate level. You will work to provide tax consulting and compliance services to a broad base of clients under the direction of senior staff. You will assist in solving a client’s complex business problems by minimising tax and tax compliance costs and to manage their strategic and operational tax risks. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity, minimum 37.5 hours per week.
From our offices at PwC Tower in the bustling and vibrant Commercial Bay, You will work to advise a variety of clients on tax compliance and advisory matters, including support for strategic transactions, business structuring, and regulatory obligations. You’ll also get the opportunity to work on a broad range of tax assignments and interact with other parts of the PwC business, at home and at times overseas. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity, minimum 37.5 hours per week.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Delivery and execution of tax advice and tax compliance liaising directly with clients under the guidance and support of experienced tax advisors
Providing tax advice/consulting and expertise to businesses undergoing acquisitions and divestments
Working with leading digital tools to drive new efficiencies for the firm and our clients
Providing valuable insights and solutions to clients through effective research and application of tax legislation
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a Chartered Accountancy or similar professional services environment, with responsibilities including tax compliance, advisory, or tax-related financial reporting
Qualified with CA ANZ, CPA Australia or an overseas equivalent (such as ACA/ICAEW or ACCA)
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex tax legislation, review financial data, contribute to the preparation or review of corporate income tax returns, and carry out audit of tax procedures
Proven experience working with clients across a range of sectors, including extensive experience working with clients in the financial or tax service sectors
Experience working in collaborative teams, including across multiple locations or functions
Strong business acumen with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to client and team needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and consistency in deliverables
