Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Department of Kinesiology LifeFit Director, the LifeFit Admin Coordinator provides administrative support to the LifeFit Director including daily operations, communications, and acting as the lead for interns and employees and student assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Responsible for opening and closing of LifeFit daily (Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 2 pm), assigning staff as needed.
- Personnel Support: Acting as defacto LifeFit Timekeeper, communicating with LifeFit employees and Kinesiology timekeeper for official timekeeping.
- Customer Service: Assist the Director with community outreach via emails/phone calls with organizations, creating advertising flyers for events, scheduling and executing events.
- Personnel Support: Coordinate scheduling and acting as the lead for LifeFit student assistant employees.
- Financial Support: Troubleshoots claim and invoice discrepancies, working with the Director and Dean's Office as needed to resolve.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute a program of work under the direction of senior management. Intermediate computers skills and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel. Skill in Customer service as well as verbal and written communications, including public speaking. Demonstrated instructional abilities for large and small class settings. Skill in communicating with a wide variety on constituents, from students, to staff, to senior citizens.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
- Education: equivalent to a bachelors degree in a related field preferred. A Masters degree or higher in Kinesiology and/or business or related fields strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in the fitness industry or related field preferred.
Physical Summary
Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Certificates
- Certificates: CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification preferred. A nationally recognized accredited fitness certification preferred (i.e. personal trainer, strength and conditioning, specialist, group fitness, special populations)

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,058 - $6,653 per month.

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for seven months with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
