JOB PURPOSE:

The Bartolotta Restaurants is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented team member to join our Finance team as an Accounting Specialist. This position is responsible for accurately capturing data across various daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, sales and general ledger reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high attention-to-detail, effective communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities. The Accounting Specialist role will support the team in day-to-day operations while gaining hands on experience in multiple areas of accounting and finance duties.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions across multiple entities.
Perform data entry and ensure accuracy in daily financial transactions.
Reconcile daily cash deposits.
Assist in preparing and maintaining prepaid and accrual schedules.
Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes by recording inventory.
Provide support and backup in hourly payroll and tips processing.
Periodic (local) bank runs for cash and check deposits.
Assist in annual 1099 preparation and filing.
Organize annual renewal of standard forms and licenses.
Perform other related administrative duties to support financial and regulatory compliance as assigned.
Provide the highest quality service and support to restaurant management, chefs, department leaders, and other business partners

Requirements

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Superior attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Finance team members.
Ability to balance competing priorities and perform at a high-level in a fast-paced, changing environment.
