Under the direction of the VP, Business Development, the Director, Business Development for Catalyst Flex will serve as a key driver of growth within our Functional Service Provider business unit, with an immediate mandate to expand the pipeline.
The Director, Business Development is a driven member of our high-performing team, bringing creativity, grit, and a relentless pursuit of new business. You will leverage every tool, tactic, and relationship to identify prospects, open doors, and secure partnerships. In this role, you will be expected to deliver results quickly, combining aggressive prospecting with thoughtful relationship-building to grow market share.
You will be responsible for the full sales lifecycle — from identifying and qualifying leads, to developing and executing tailored sales strategies, to negotiating and closing deals. Manage select client relationships to ensure continued engagement and upselling potential.
Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Relentless prospecting and business development skills to independently generate and pursue leads.
- Quickly build and nurture strong partner relationships that drive long-term business growth.
- Lead high-value business conversations with a range of contact types — from operational leaders to senior executives and board-level decision-makers — and securing clear, actionable next steps.
- Strong consultative selling skills, to deeply understand client challenges, objectives, and industry context to craft compelling solutions.
- Increase market awareness and create cross-sell and upsell opportunities, successfully positioning the company’s strategy, vision, and market leadership with key business executives and functional decision-makers.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas in competitive, high-growth environments.
- Comfort and credibility when discussing targeted areas of business growth, including Data Science/Biometrics (Programming, Clinical Data Management, Biostatistics, etc.), Safety/PVG, Clinical Operations, and Medical Writing.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, moving opportunities efficiently through the funnel to close.
- Operate in both enterprise-level strategic sales and high-volume transactional sales environments.
- Excellent qualification skills to identify key decision makers, budget availability, decision criteria, and timelines.
- Strong closing skills, including identifying buying signals, asking for the business, and following up decisively to secure wins.
- Partner with Proposals & Contracts teams to respond to RFIs/RFPs, develop proposals, and negotiate contracts to successful execution.
- High creativity, adaptability, and the capacity to multitask while maintaining focus on driving measurable impact.
- Commitment to accurate, real-time CRM management for pipeline visibility, forecasting, and corporate reporting.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of leveraging any and all personal and professional networks to uncover opportunities.

Position Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advance and/or health care related degree preferred; M.S., B.S.N, R.Ph, Pharm D., preferred).
Experience:
Clear understanding of the clinical development process and related services. 3+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical drug development and/or medical device business development required
