Ground Operations Support Officer

Opportunities are available within our Ground Operations department for a Part-Time or Casual Ground Operations Support Officer to join our team based at the Darwin Airport. 

Hours of work are rostered over a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays, so it is essential that interested candidates are flexible with their availability. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with the boarding and marshalling of passengers
• Preparing, loading, and unloading of catering for all flights out of Darwin including return sectorsTravelling as required to regional airports to support aircraft turnarounds – passenger check-in and loading of baggage
• Providing assistance to passengers with disabilities e.g. pushing wheelchairs etc
• Other duties as required to assist with the airport operation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in aviation desirable but not essential
• Must be physically fit to lift items up to and including 32kg
• Previous experience in handling general items – packing, loading, unloading and stocktaking
• Good organisational skills and time management, including a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous experience in stock control 
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel
• Be able to hold and maintain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC).
