Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting an Operations Assistant to support the Operations Team. This position will provide support to lawyers, staff and clients in the areas of duplicating and duplication equipment; faxing and facsimile equipment, mail and messenger service, and supplies.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Sorts all incoming mail, interoffice mail, packages and publications for scheduled distribution. Delivers priority mail and hand-deliveries as received.
2. Prints, scans and duplicates documents using duplicating equipment. Maintains equipment and supplies for same and throughout the office.
3. Operates document binding equipment. Binds documents as requested, including electronic document binding which includes storing/burning to flash drives and CDs
4. Assists lawyers and/or staff with equipment issues, courier requests and supply requests.
5. Assists in maintaining conference rooms and office space.
6. Maintains working knowledge of Firm applications including Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite and the Firms file management system.
7. Stocks office supplies and paper on assigned floors. Responsible for the general upkeep of assigned floors, including but not limited to the organization of file islands, lights and excess furniture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Experience in a professional services office or other general office support experience preferred.
  3. Other Qualifications:  Ability to generate a large volume of work and pay strict attention to detail. Must exercise initiative in problem solving and be capable of making sound decisions in the absence of clear instructions. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, and excellent interpersonal communication skills required. Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions essential. Physical effort is required for long periods of standing and lifting of boxes weighing up to 70 pounds. Must be able to operate a hand truck to lift and transport items, including boxes or furniture, in excess of 70 pounds. Visual acuity needed to process and read written communications, moderate keyboard usage. Ability to copy, collate, sort, reduce and enlarge documents, and operate related equipment. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through both written and oral communications. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory. This role requires in-office attendance in accordance with the policies set by the local office, team, and/or the Firm. Ability to maintain flexibility regarding work assignments and ability to work overtime on short notice required. Ability to work in a cooperative manner as a member of a team. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above, with or without reasonable accommodation.
