Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Role Overview

The Technical Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and optimization of internal tools used to manage live event operations across NBCUniversal’s streaming platforms. This includes metadata systems, live event management, and other proprietary solutions. The role will serve as a key liaison between operations, engineering, and governance teams to ensure tools are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product lifecycle for metadata and live event management tools, including live event management and custom-built platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, engineering, and governance to define product requirements and prioritize enhancements.
  • Drive roadmap planning, sprint execution, and release management for internal tooling.
  • Ensure tools meet operational SLAs and support 24/7 live event workflows with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct regular performance analysis and user feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Partner with engineering to implement automation and integrations that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation, training materials, and support resources for tool users.
  • Lead vendor and partner relationships related to tooling infrastructure and support.
  • Monitor tool usage, adoption, and ROI to inform future investment and development decisions.
  • Manage a team of product owners that are focused on improving live event operations.
  • Use data and determine ROIs to improve operations and the value to the business.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in digital operations, product management, or technical program management.
  • 3+ years managing internal tools or platforms in a media or streaming environment.
  • Strong understanding of metadata systems, Airtable, and workflow automation.
  • Experience working with engineering teams in Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with live event operations, video streaming infrastructure, and digital distribution workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Airtable scripting, APIs, and integrations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
