We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage payroll and benefits processes across Armenia and Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing monthly payrolls, payroll taxes and administering the benefits ensuring full compliance with local labor laws, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

You will work closely with the Senior Payroll Specialist based in the UK, P&C, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant payroll operations. This role also plays a key part in supporting employees, improving payroll processes, and maintaining trust in compensation practices.

What you’ll be responsible for: 

Payroll Processing

  • Prepare and process monthly payrolls for employees in Armenia and Georgia.
  • Collect and validate timesheets, contracts, compensation changes, and relevant payroll inputs.
  • Accurately calculate salaries, bonuses, benefits, overtime, and statutory deductions (e.g., income tax, pension, and social security).
  • Enter and manage payroll data in payroll systems/tools.
  • Ensure all calculations comply with Armenian and Georgian labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers or tax advisors when applicable.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate payroll records, including contracts, pay slips, reports, and tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with government reporting and statutory requirements.
  • Respond to audit requests and support internal and external financial audits.

Employee Support & Communication

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll and benefits-related queries in Armenia and Georgia.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to payroll issues and discrepancies.
  • Explain compensation elements, deductions, and benefits in a clear and confidential manner.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll and benefits.

Reporting & Finance Support

  • Generate periodic payroll reports for internal management, Finance, and P&C teams.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and provide accurate data for monthly closings and budgeting purposes.
  • Working with payroll providers and Finance team on reconciling payroll related taxes 
  • Track payroll-related costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with Finance on payment scheduling and local bank coordination.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Support continuous improvement of payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure payroll practices remain up to date with any changes in local legislation or company policy.
  • Coordinate with HR to align payroll with employee lifecycle events (e.g., promotions, terminations, leave).
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and provide feedback for system/process upgrades.

Cross-Training & Backup Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to gain working knowledge of payroll processes in other countries within the organization.
  • Serve as a backup payroll processor for other countries as needed, ensuring continuity of service during absences or peak periods.
  • Support the global payroll team in maintaining standardized processes and sharing best practices across regions.


What you bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably covering both Armenia and Georgia.
  • Strong knowledge of Armenian and Georgian labor laws, tax codes, and social security regulations.
  • Fluent in English and Georgian (spoken and written); knowledge of Armenian is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to numerical accuracy.
  • Experience using payroll and HR software systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach when dealing with employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with reporting tools.
