Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and data-driven Director Business Intelligence to lead a newly formed function within our Biopharma team. This individual will lead a team of business operations professionals, leveraging data and insights to drive growth, inform strategic decision-making, and enable our business development and partnership teams.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the oncology biopharma landscape, strong analytical capabilities, and a track record of enabling commercial success through data-driven insight, strategic foresight, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive landscape assessments of the oncology biopharma ecosystem.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of biopharma pipelines, strategic initiatives, and key therapeutic areas to enable business development teams identify new opportunities.
  • Partner with business development and alliance management teams to integrate the “Voice of Customer” (VoC) through qualitative and quantitative market research.
  • Maintain and disseminate competitive intelligence across internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and own analytics frameworks for monitoring business development performance, customer engagement, and market trends.
  • Lead development of long-term revenue forecasts in collaboration with Finance, Business Development, and alliance management teams.
  • Build reporting systems to provide real-time business intelligence and track KPIs across key accounts and segments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Collaborate with Business Development team to streamline account planning and customer tracking processes.
  • Design and lead scalable enablement programs, including tools, training modules, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Optimize CRM systems and workflows to improve business development effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Monitor business development team adoption of infrastructure tools and provide ongoing training and support.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a university degree and typically 15 years of related experience; 12 years and a Master’s degree; 8 years and a PhD; or 5 years and a PharmD/MD.
  • Experience in BioPharma business intelligence, commercial strategy, or analytics within a biopharma, diagnostics, or healthcare consulting environment.
  • Deep knowledge of oncology markets and drug development pipelines.
  • Proven ability to translate data into insights and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and analytics software.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,510 to $234,430. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $200,600 to $275,800. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
