The Novelis Uhrichsville, Ohio team is seeking a Plant Human Resources Business Partner. The person in this role will report to the Manager, Human Resources. The ideal candidate will be responsible for initiating and leading various people related projects to meet the organization's objectives. The incumbent will support our company purpose, Shaping a Sustainable World Together.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Be a strategic partner to the Plant leadership team bringing expertise in HR
• Build a strong culture within the plant by working with the leadership team and union hourly employees to ensure that employees feel valued and engaged
• Formulate and implement the Plant HR strategy consistent with the HR strategies across the business
• Establish self-led teams in the plant – both structurally and culturally such that all employees have an ownership attitude
• Steward the Novelis cultural beliefs and drive business results through proactive solutions
• Ensure that all the major HR systems, policies, and programs run efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the strategic needs of the plant
• Provide and ensure efficient, day-to-day HR administration and operations
• Build a talent rich and sustainable leadership group through organizational planning and employee development
• Handle employee and manager performance process
• Help managers build effective teams
• Build employee engagement and efficiency
• Provide learning and development opportunities to employees at all levels

 Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Business or related field
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal skills
• Must have ability to learn quickly and work in fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, labor contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers/employees
• Advanced customer service skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality 

Preferred Qualifications

• HRCI or SHRM certification
• Experience in a union environment
• Previous PeopleSoft HRIS and Kronos payroll system administration

Location Profile

Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge anneals to temper levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. Employing more than 350 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
