We are seeking a motivated GIS Analyst with a dual focus in Parcel Fabric and ArcGIS Indoors to join our team. This role will support two critical areas of our work: maintaining and editing parcel data for land record management, and preparing facility data for Indoors mapping to support safety, security, and facility management initiatives. The ideal candidate will assist with parcel mapping, legal document interpretation, and quality control while also working with CAD, BIM, LiDAR, and point cloud data to create accurate and usable indoor maps. A strong candidate will bring attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs. Collaboration and clear communication are essential, as is a commitment to producing accurate, impactful work that helps communities and organizations make better decisions.

Major Areas Of Responsibility

Data Analysis And Strategy Development:

  • Assist with the creation, editing, and maintenance of parcels, subdivisions, and right-of-way data.
  • Interpret legal descriptions, plats, deeds, and survey documents to support parcel mapping workflows.
  • Prepare and convert CAD, BIM, LiDAR, and point cloud data for Indoors deployment.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of facility layers, space classifications, and Indoors data models.
  • Configure and publish maps, scenes, and applications for navigation, incident response, and facility planning.
  • Document workflows, maintain metadata, and support the development of standard methodologies for Indoors projects.
  • Assist with training materials and demonstrations for staff and clients.

Leadership And Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients to achieve project goals.

Mentor and guide junior staff members as needed.Effective Communication:

  • Communicate complex planning concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Detailed documentation of new methods and procedures.
  • Update managers on progress on a consistent basis

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability in reports and recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough data validation and error-checking processes.

Continued Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in the field of school planning and housing research.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This is a Jr Level position that requires three (3) or more years of experience in urban planning or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography with focused coursework in GIS, and spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cadastral mapping concepts, including legal description interpretation and parcel editing.
  • Familiarity with indoor mapping concepts and facility data (CAD, BIM, LiDAR, point clouds).
  • Exceptional essential skills, including communication, teamwork, dependability, problem solving, and leadership.
  • Experience includes creating maps, managing geospatial databases, and performing spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with database concepts (SQL, versioned editing, geodatabases).
  • Exposure to space management, safety/security planning, or asset/facility management.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro extensions, including Indoors and Parcel Fabric.
  • Experience ArcGIS Online applications (Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123, etc.)
