In this role, you'll:
Working as part of the Sydney Trains’ Fleet Maintenance team until July 2028, this is a great opportunity for someone to lead and manage the delivery of operational integration and readiness of the Tangarra Fleet post undrgoing upgrades through the Life Extension program (TFLE) .
It is important you have a successful track record and passion to champion coordination with critical stakeholders in complex environments through all stages of the project lifecycle ensuring the safety and operational-critical environment is ready to adopt the upgraded fleet. That includes but is not limited to managing interdependencies, implementing maintenance plans, developing and deploying training programs and upgrading any impacted infrastructure and systems. This includes coordination with operations, trains control, crewing and trade unions.
You will effectively collaborate with the project team and business stakeholders to track critical deliverables, manage interdependencies and control risk in alignment with the project;s objectives, branch plans, budgets and risk management strategies.
You will be accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of expert advice provided and ensure successful deployment of new fleet to a program of works with multiple complexities and dependencies.
This is a fixed term opportunity up until June 2028.

About you
You are an experienced business leader with extensive operational experience in the development, delivery, and integration of large programs delivering change ideally within the rail environment or similar such as mining, aviation or defense.
You will be a people leader, with experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating to deliver results while responding to and managing issues.
You will be a trusted advisor to project and delivery teams, with a strong understanding of delivery, assurance, interface and readiness matters to effectively lead the design, development and implementation of multiple operational initiatives.
This role requires significant collaboration with wide ranging Sydney Trains stakeholders, External Agencies, other Rail Organisations and Unions. Therefore to be successful in this role, you will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.
You will have demonstrated Project Management, Change Management and Operational Readiness experience in the rail industry to effectively lead a team to scope and deploy effective operational readiness strategies to deliver the scope of works in alignment with the business objectives.
You will be an agent of change and will have the ability to manage, engage and influence a wide range of technically complex and dynamic business requirements. Experience supporting significant transformational change will be highly advantageous.
