About KIND
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is a global leader in the protection of unaccompanied and separated children who are forcibly displaced from their countries of origin. Launched in 2008, KIND champions a world in which every child’s rights and well-being are protected throughout their journey to safety.  Building on its extensive programming and successful model in the United States, KIND is expanding in the Americas and Europe to bring its experience to bear in working with unaccompanied and separated children. Our work focuses on addressing the legal and mental health needs of this population; building strong partnerships and engaging in training and capacity strengthening with governments, NGOs, and the private sector; and advocating for systemic and pragmatic reforms to advance the rights of unaccompanied and separated children.
KIND seeks a Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, to lead the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team—a critical component of the Strategic Performance and Evaluation team—to assess and improve the effectiveness, reach, and outcomes of KIND’s programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Performance and Evaluation, and working closely with other members of the Strategic Performance and Evaluation team, the incumbent will develop and implement M&E and learning frameworks, tools, and systems across the organization to meaningfully measure and communicate the impact of KIND’s work; provide guidance, training, technical assistance, and strategic oversight to KIND staff to effectively implement all M&E activities; ensure KIND’s work is evidence-based and results-driven; and build practical, rigorous M&E practices that inform program design, implementation, and learning and improvement. The role will serve as a key internal resource on learning and evaluation methods and outcome measurement, while also supporting reporting and data collection efforts across the organization. This position is based remotely from any location in the United States.
