Lung Cancer Screening & Tobacco Treatment Research. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dedicated Research Assistant to support an innovative precision trial focused on improving lung cancer screening and tobacco treatment outcomes. This position offers the unique opportunity for one-on-one interactions, collaborating with patients with a history of smoking and primary care physicians to implement and evaluate a personalized risk feedback tool aimed at enhancing clinical practice and patient behavior. This role involves recruiting patients, obtaining informed consent, collecting data for the clinical trial, conducting interviews and delivering personalized behavioral interventions, and collecting saliva samples for analysis. The position offers a dynamic mix of remote and on-site work at our medical center, providing opportunities for hands-on experience in clinical research.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, screens and schedules subjects for study per protocol.
- Documents case history, charts and test scores using PC computer systems.
- Performs phlebotomy and other testing in accordance with study guidelines.
- Plans and implements study phases, day-to-day in-house and field operations and trouble shoots case processes.
- Administers/scores tests, prepares/edits progress reports and attends meetings, providing case statistical analysis.
- May participate in training of Professional Rater I.
- Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study.
- Delivers study samples to lab for testing.
- Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in study.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
