The Opportunity
This is a onsite role based out of our Abbott Park, IL location.
The Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for managing third-party incident responses, enhancing security posture, and assisting in the authoring and facilitating of cybersecurity tabletop exercises. This
role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and documentation to support the Cybersecurity function.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish cybersecurity event reporting and disclosure processes.
Design and author scenarios with their team for executive-level tabletop exercises to enhance incident preparedness.
Track and support the implementation of outcomes and remediation efforts from tabletop exercises.
Develop processes and prepare documentation of those processes to target audiences at all levels of the business.
Create and maintain executive-level presentations and metrics that demonstrate cybersecurity value to the organization.
Align functional groups with response responsibilities and document these in playbooks.
Assist in tracking action items identified during exercises and incidents.
Ensure proper escalation and information flow within Abbott’s cybersecurity framework.
Create and keep current metrics to highlight the value of exercise outcomes, security posture enhancing control implementations, and incident outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Education in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related function.
At least 1 year of experience in cybersecurity incident response or related function.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Working knowledge of cybersecurity control frameworks (e.g., NIST).
Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk mitigation and threat vectors.
Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity incident response or related function.
Experience in IT project management.
Background in regulated environments

The base pay for this position is
$85,300.00 – $170,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
