The World of Interiors is seeking a Style Director to lead the creative direction and execution of its much-admired Swatch and Shortlist pages across both print and digital platforms.
This pivotal role sits at the heart of the editorial team, responsible for delivering visually compelling features while upholding the magazine’s uniquely individual approach.
The role
Lead the concept, planning and execution of all styled merchandising content, ensuring consistency with WOI’s visual identity across print and digital.
Manage and mentor the in-house styling team, overseeing daily workflow, project timelines, budget and creative output.
Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, supporting the Editor in setting the creative direction of the magazine and contributing to strategic planning across editorial and commercial endeavours.
Work with the Editor and Art Director to develop original and imaginative ways to showcase products in the magazine and collaborate with digital teams to translate print features into engaging online content.
Thoroughly research shoots by subject, which can include anything from Chintz to bathtubs, to ensure a high standard of visual storytelling and commercial appeal.
Create images that aim to ensure the magazine remains a market leader in taste and style direction.
About you
Extensive experience in a senior styling role within interiors, lifestyle or fashion media.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates an exceptional eye for composition, colour and storytelling.
A deep knowledge of all aspects of art and the decorative arts is vital.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work within tight budgets and consistently meet monthly deadlines.
Proven experience leading creative teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent industry contacts across interiors brands, PRs and suppliers.
A broad range of skills including set design, sewing, painting, sculpting etc.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills, paired with a collaborative and adaptable approach, thriving both on shoots and within the office to bring creative ideas to life.
