What you get to do:
As an EHS Manager, you will provide skilled, knowledgeable support for our year-round park operational needs. You will:
• Oversee the Health Services and Risk Management departments of SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations associated with Environmental, Emergency Medical Services, Safety and Worker’s Compensation.
• Oversee general liability/guest liability matters to ensure issues are handled in accordance with state and local regulations and SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment (SEA) policies.
• Establish objectives and evaluative ambassadors to ensure guests and ambassador receive excellent service and care. Hire staff for EHS to meet daily operational needs of the park and company response time goals. Train and ensure ambassadors follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines taking action to correct deficiencies and recognize performance promptly.
• Oversee management of EHS department personnel, including Health Services personnel
• Develop and oversee operating labor and expense budgets along with Worker’s compensation and General Liability budgets.
• Oversee management and execution of safety regulatory programs and best practices.
• Oversee management of workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto claims.
• Ensures that OSHA standards and recordkeeping practices are adhered to in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
• Plans and implements training for ambassadors
• Consistently practice and drive a culture of safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
• Demonstrate the ability to meet strict deadlines and lead others in a fast-paced work environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written, oral and presentation).
What it takes to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree with an Environmental Health, Safety, or Risk Management related major preferred.
• Have a cumulation of five (5) years of related experience and/or training in Environmental, Health, Safety, and/or Risk Management field.
• Experience in general liability and worker's compensation including claims management and litigation management preferred.
• Have knowledge of environmental/safety laws and/or the ability to research new information and/or laws.
• Ability to create tangible goals and execute activities to achieve those goals.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule to include opening and late evening hours, weekends, and holidays with limited travel required.
• Be able to stand and walk frequently for extended periods of time; must be able to lift, push, carry and pull 50 pounds occasionally; ability to climb/ascend heights if needed; perform tasks that require frequent bending from waist to floor, kneeling, squatting, simple hand grasping work, overhead work and fine manipulation (use of keyboard/writing).
• Be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying Florida weather, to include extreme heat. Position will be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes.
