As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a squad within the group strategy team. You will be working with engineers who are leveraging the power of generative AI technology to improve and refine the tool to better serve colleagues and customers.

  • Collaborate with the team to tackle complex technical problems, contributing to design and implementation to ensure quality engineering outcomes.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and lead demos to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

  • Translate requirements into engineering solutions, assisting in breaking down work and creating clarity for team members.

  • Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools and capabilities, providing feedback and insights from real-world testing.

  • Deliver robust and reusable solutions that integrate seamlessly into other teams’ workflows and products.

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and propose improvements, role modelling standards and best practices.

  • Actively participate in code reviews, maintain high-quality code bases, and assist in documentation for knowledge sharing.

  • Communicate with product and business teams to gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into technical design.

  • Engage with project teams to understand upcoming requirements and translate Epics and Features into User Stories which meet the agreed Definition of Ready.

  • Liaise and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organisation, and to recommend solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its goals.

  • Analyse and document business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools.

  • Understand the importance of controls and risk management in day-to-day activities with the ability to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.

Skills Required:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • Hands-on experience with Node.js/Python or similar backend frameworks.

  • Proficient in React and Next.js for front-end and full-stack development.

  • Skilled in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, with flexibility across SQL and Oracle.

  • Exposure to Agentic AI systems including AutoGenCrewAI, and Pydantic.

  • Proficient in leveraging native AWS services and building microservices architectures on cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure.

  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to solve business-critical problems.

  • Experienced in Agile development methodologies, with a focus on iterative experimentation from ideation through to prototype, pilot, and product delivery.

  • Familiar with workflow automation tools such as Pega and Appian is advantageous

  • Experienced in using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.

  • Proficient in Git workflows, including branching strategies, merging, and managing pull requests.

  • Advanced understanding of system integrationscloud hosting, and the design and development of reusable components.
