The Logistics Specialist will manage transportation and related logistics of goods and services to and from internal and/or external customers/suppliers.
As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Arranging and managing all logistics activities and related systems information, both internationally and within the region to meet scheduling requirements.
- Arranging required customs clearances, shipping/receiving & packing activities as needed.
- Participating and supporting in the regional projects, as well as local and cross-functional projects.
- Liaising with Process and Pipeline Services (PPS) approved Logistics Service Providers (LSP) to attain best cost/service options for PPS shipments.
- Use the Process and Pipeline Services (PPS) business system to capture the import & export shipments and adhere to PPS logistics policies & procedures.
- Being aware of local transportation regulatory requirements in the region and ensure that PPS complies to that.
- Maintaining a solid understanding of incoterms, HS codes, ECCN and its impact in creation of required shipping documentation for export, import and domestic shipments across all modes.
- Performing the record keeping of the logistics documentation as per the policy & procedures.
- Ensuring overall logistics compliance of the local organization.
- Preparing and capturing various temporary import regimes used for the region.
- Investigating and recommending action for all shipping and receiving non-conformances.
- Managing regional logistics costs to meet budget & operational plans.
- Maintaining ERF (Equipment Request Form) commercial clearance statuses and request updates to forms pertaining to shipping.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant logistics position
- Have Import AND Export logistics experience
- Have experience creating import & export documentation
- Have experience and understanding of tariff codes (HS Codes)
- Have experience working with and understanding ECCN
- Possess working knowledge of principal modes of shipment; road, sea and air
- Possess considerable knowledge of INCOTERMS
- Possess experience with international customs requirements
