Managing Director Software Engineering Management, Enterprise Integration Services
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Managing Director of Software Engineering to lead our Enterprise Integration Services division. This executive will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, architecture, and delivery of integration platforms across the enterprise, with a strong emphasis on MuleSoft-based solutions. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills to enable seamless connectivity across systems, applications, and data sources.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology oversight
- Oversee architecture and development of APIs, microservices, and integration patterns using MuleSoft.
- Ensure best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the enterprise integration strategy aligned with business goals.
- Expertise in adoption of integration platforms (iPaaS, APIs), modern architecture (microservices, event driven)
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions.
Team Management:
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams across multiple geographies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with business leaders, product owners, and IT teams to understand integration needs.
- Communicate technical strategies and roadmaps to executive leadership.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure integration solutions meet regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
- Establish governance frameworks for API lifecycle management and data integrity.
Project management and execution
- Build and manage integration team with architects, developers, testers to deliver high quality product
- Oversee project tracking ensuring on time delivery, within scope and budget
- Develop culture of continuous improvement and agile delivery
- Encourage and support innovation within the team.
- Create the high-level design of integration solutions and guide implementation teams on components and patterns to use in the detailed design and implementation.
- Transforms business requirements into scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications.
Collaboration with various stakeholders
- Engage with business leaders, product/ IT owners to identify integration needs and opportunities
- Act as liaison between technical leaders and executive leadership to translate and prioritize business needs into integration solutions
- Familiarity with SSO using oAuth 2 and integration security using mutual TLS.
Strong systems analysis and problem-solving skills - Knowledge in cloud concepts (i.e. AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, ...).
- MuleSoft Integration Architect certification preferred
Experience Needed for the Role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- MuleSoft Certified Developer or Architect (required).
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- 15+ years in software engineering, with 7+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing enterprise integration platforms and large-scale transformation initiatives.
- 4+ years managing a team of engineers working onshore/offshore/remote
- Expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, and integration architecture.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, API design, microservices architecture, and message queuing systems.
- Ability to drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with MuleSoft Architecture and Integration, Data Transformations, Open Banking, Fintech, FDX Standards is a plus
- Practical experience working with the Agile approach to project management.
- Experience with Shared Agile Framework (SAFe) and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) is a plus.
The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $175,000.00. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
