State Street Markets (“SSM”) is looking for an Officer to join the SSM Risk and FRM team in Boston. The team manages
Credit, Market, and Model Risk as the First Line of Defense across SSM’s business units, including Financing Solutions,
FX Sales & Trading, Portfolio Solutions, and Global Link.  Additionally, the team performs Financial Resource Management,
covering allocation, monitoring, and optimization of capital, funding, and liquidity.

The  Regulatory  Advisory  and  Optimization  team  is  responsible  for  staying  ahead  of  regulatory  affairs  and  changes impacting  SSM  businesses.  The  team  actively  participates  in  industry  conferences  and  forums,  monitors  market  and regulatory  developments,  meets  with  clients,  and  analyzes  competitors  to  provide  strategic  guidance. Additionally,  the team identifies and explores regulatory optimization opportunities through innovative structures such as Significant Risk Transfers  (SRTs)  and  other  capital  efficient  solutions,  ensuring  the  organization  can  meet  strategic  revenue  growth objectives and maintain a competitive position while meeting regulatory requirements. This Officer role will support the Regulatory Advisory and Optimization team in tracking regulatory developments, assisting with research and analysis, and helping prepare materials for internal and external engagements. This individual will work
closely with senior team members to learn about regulatory strategy and optimization techniques such as Significant Risk Transfers (SRTs).  The role is located in Boston, with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

  • Assist in monitoring regulatory updates across key jurisdictions
  • Help analyze regulatory proposals and guidance documents
  • Support research on competitor strategies and industry best practices
  • Help track trade publications and peer commentary
  • Collaborate with team members to assess regulatory capital implications
  • Contribute to research on SRT market trends and structural innovations
  • Help prepare presentations and reports for management
  • Participate in ad hoc projects involving data analysis and reporting

  • High level of competency in Excel; Experience in Python preferred
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, experience in data mining and reporting extremely useful
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast paced trading environment

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, computer science or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant role

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $115,000 Annual
