Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As Head of Pricing, Business Lending, you will lead pricing strategies to drive growth and commercial impact across Westpac New Zealand.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expert insight and guidance to support strategic planning and decision making. Your leadership will influence how pricing is used as a lever for growth, competitiveness and customer value. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic thinking with analytical depth, requiring a strong understanding of customer behaviour and market dynamics.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and mentor a team to drive innovation, accountability and collaboration.
Develop and implement enterprise pricing strategies which consider customer and business outcomes to optimise performance.
Monitor key performance indicators and provide data-driven insights to proactively guide pricing decisions.
Own and manage pricing related risk frameworks, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and alignment with governance and regulatory standards.
Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders at the Executive and Senior Leadership level, acting as a trusted advisor and elevating the visibility and impact of pricing across the organisation.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
10+ years’ experience in banking product management, with a proven track record of delivering strategic pricing outcomes across complex, high value portfolios.
Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen to drive data-led decision making and unlock growth opportunities.
Deep risk maturity and strategic foresight, with the ability to navigate regulatory landscapes and embed robust risk controls into pricing frameworks.
Demonstrated success in identifying market opportunities, leading transformational change, and influencing enterprise-wide strategy.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence senior leaders, and drive cross-functional alignment.
Curious, proactive, and execution-focused mindset, with a strong bias for action and continuous improvement.
Demonstrates effective team leadership by cultivating a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability within a high-performing team.
