POSITION SUMMARY:
The Executive Director of the Student Health and Wellness Center is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual to oversee health and wellness services, ensuring regulatory compliant, high-quality, accessible, and inclusive programs for the campus community; students and employees. The Executive Director will be a visionary strategist advancing student health and wellbeing while serving as a senior leader in the University's efforts to foster a thriving campus community focused on health and well-being. In addition to serving as administrator and Privacy and Security Officer for the health and wellness center, this position will lead the strategic initiative of health and wellness services becoming a faculty-based clinic, and will require the ability to serve as a credentialed nurse practitioner.
Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Executive Director is part of the Provost's leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, resource management, policy development, and collaboration across academic and administrative units. Guided by an inclusive, integrated service model, student health and wellness efforts prioritize cross-campus collaboration and promote a holistically oriented, health-promoting campus culture.

Strategic Planning, Execution and Regulatory Compliance –
The Executive Director will be a senior leader on campus serving as an authority on a broad range of health and wellness issues. Grounded in contemporary practices, they will articulate a compelling and coherent vision for student wellbeing and embrace a student-centered approach in decision-making, programs, practices, service operations, and community wellbeing.
Responsible for planning and management of operating budget for clinical operations, financial oversight and revenue cycle management; as well as aligning operational budgets with strategic goals and ensuring compliance with healthcare finance.
Utilize healthcare analytics in order to design, implement, and leverage data systems that capture and synthesize clinical, operational, and financial metrics.
Translate data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and drive strategic decision-making.
Create and implement performance dashboards, KPIs, EHR integrations, benchmarking, and predictive modeling to support continuous quality improvement and institutional accountability is essential.
Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR), medical billing processes, and quality assurance programs and all regulatory compliance requirements, including named Privacy and Security Officer.
Oversight of clinical staff; and adherence to all applicable regulatory guidelines in the operation of the Student Health Center, Student Counseling Services, the Office of Wellness, Prevention and Education, and the CARE team.
Promote Holistic Wellbeing –
The Executive Director will be a critical player in promoting holistic wellbeing, encompassing physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
Support Student Wellbeing –
Leading a multi-disciplinary team, the Executive Director will serve as an enthusiastic spokesperson for student health and wellness. This leader must demonstrate empathy, be a thoughtful listener, and be a champion for all facets of student wellbeing. In alignment with support of student wellbeing, this role will also be a champion for a diverse, inclusive, and respectful community, both in vision and practice. This commitment is rooted in the belief that multiple points of view, life experiences, ethnicities, cultures, and belief systems are essential to personal, professional, and organizational growth. They will partner with colleagues across the university to incorporate inclusion, belonging, and justice frameworks into programs and services that support student wellbeing.
Perform Clinical Duties –
This role is not just an administrator, but also an APRN, required to be fully credentialed to participate with major insurance providers. Must have an unrestricted APRN license, and be qualified to perform all of the clinical duties of an APRN in the health services clinic.
Foster Partnerships and Enhance Operational Effectiveness –
The Executive Director will foster partnerships with internal and external partners to promote a culture of wellbeing. They will develop a vision and plan to ensure organizational effectiveness, including updating existing structures, programs, and services as needed; ensuring resource investments are well utilized; and stewarding human and fiscal resources with creativity and fiscal prudence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced practice registered nurse with unrestricted license and certification; eligible to practice independently in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Able to provide supervision to RN clinic staff. Family nurse practitioner with 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
Extensive expertise in budgeting, financial oversight, and revenue cycle management within clinical service settings.
Extensive experience in the oversight of healthcare billing practices (including insurance reimbursement, third-party payers), contract negotiation with external vendors and service providers, and development of financially sustainable service models.
Extensive knowledge of all regulatory compliance areas related to healthcare (medical and counseling) practice and administration.
Experience in supervising licensed healthcare professionals, including developing and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated expertise in the utilization of healthcare analytics with a proven ability to design, implement, and leverage data systems that capture and synthesize clinical, operational, and financial metrics.
Must be able to translate data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and drive strategic decision-making.
Experience with creating and implementing performance dashboards, KPIs, EHR integrations, benchmarking, and predictive modeling to support continuous quality improvement and institutional accountability is essential.
Track record of using data to advocate for resource allocation, program expansion, and health equity and quality.
Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR), medical billing processes, and quality assurance programs.
Knowledge of applicable laws and standards (e.g., HIPAA, Title IX, CLIA, AAAHC accreditation)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned doctorate in Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, or related fields.
A minimum of 7 years of experience overseeing complex integrated healthcare organizations, demonstrating proficiency in managing a wide range of health services and programs.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of and ability to follow university policies and procedures
Ability to demonstrate exceptional service in alignment with the Mission and Vision of Marymount University; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the campus community
Microsoft Office 365 includes proficient skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
Workday proficiency
Ability to perform functions of a nurse practitioner

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Combination of office and clinical setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Fine motor skills required for administering injections or starting IVs; performing physical exams and minor procedures; operating medical instruments and technology. Visual acuity: Required for reading charts, lab results, monitoring vital signs, and performing assessments (can be corrected with glasses/contacts). Hearing: Necessary for using stethoscopes, assessing patient sounds (e.g., heart, lungs), and listening to patient concerns. Touch: Critical for palpation during physical exams.
